KATHMANDU, JULY 15

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed commitment to provide necessary support to revive and revitalise industries and the economy battered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During a meeting with office-bearers of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry today, PM Deuba said the new government would work to bring the economy back on track. He also urged the private sector to move forward with confidence.

Members of the FNCCI delegation led by Chairperson Shekhar Golcha said the industrial sector should be given priority in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign and the programmes focused on the private sector in the budget should be implemented effectively. Today, the FNCCI delegation also met Finance Minister Janardan Sharma and put forth their demands and recommendations.

In response, Finance Minister Sharma expressed commitment to provide all possible support, including vaccines to the private sector. He also pledged to take the private sector into confidence and implement the recommendations of the FNCCI.

Senior FNCCI Vice-president Chandra Prasad Dhakal, and vicechairs Dinesh Shrestha, Anjan Shrestha and Ram Chandra Sanghai were present on the occasion.
