Nepali Congress Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma has said that the ordinance to split political parties was meant for ensuring stability of the government.

Speaking at a senior cadres' meet at Nepali Congress Damak Town Committee office today, NC Spokesperson Sharma argued that the ordinance brought by the present government was meant to ensure stability and hence different from the ordinance of a similar nature brought by the previous government.

'The ordinance brought by KP Oli's government was to bring about instability; the one brought by our government is for stability,' he said.

Further, Sharma said it was imperative for his party to take charge of the government.

'I have always been of the opinion that the NC must stay in opposition by respecting people's mandate, but as the party that was mandated to run the government couldn't do it, we had to take charge,' he observed.

The Congress spokesperson stressed the need for the party to prepare with renewed vigour from its general convention. 'As our active members are the roots NC they must be strong to keep this party robust,' he added.
