1,589 recover as 1,180 new Covid-19 cases surface; 19 deaths reported on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 14

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 779,492 on Tuesday with 1,180 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 742,306 with 1,589 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,984 with 19 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 14,443 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,266 were PCR tests while 4,177 were antigen tests.

With this, a total of 4,044,859 PCR tests have been carried out till date.Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 382 positive cases in the past 24 hours.

The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,562.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.2 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 26,202.

Currently, there are 262 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 294 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 62 and 48 cases respectively.

Globally, over 226 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.6 million people have lost their lives to the disease.Likewise, over 221 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
