Recovery rate climbs to 93.3%

KATHMANDU, JUNE 30

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 638,805 on Wednesday with 1,889 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 593,132 with 3,597 people discharged today.

The countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll stands at 9,112 with 41 fatalities recorded today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,568 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,187 were PCR tests while 4,381 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,344,133 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 1,003 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,892.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.3 %, while on the other hand the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

In the same time frame, 436 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 89 and 47 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 4,109,114 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,601,316 have received the first dose while only 755,019 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 636,916 with 1,728 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 182 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 167 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
