NEPSE springs to life, gains 104 points on Wednesday

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index bounced back on the second last trading day of the week with the sole secondary market of the country gaining 104.88 points to 2816.95, indicating a 3.87 per cent rise.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index bounced back on the second last trading day of the week with the sole secondary market of the country gaining 104.88 points to 2816.95, indicating a 3.87 per cent rise.

Similarly, the sensitive index and float index also rose with the sensitive index closing at 528.107 points, denoting a 19.47 point or a 3.83 per cent increase.

Meanwhile, the float index closed at 1197.33 points registering 7.69 points or a 4.05 per cent rise.

All the subindices were also in the green today with the life insurance index leading the gainers' pack with 551.75 points, closely followed by non-life insurance index with 441.87 points increase and development bank index with 381.42 point rise.

A total of 12,122,298 units of shares of altogether 217 companies were traded at Rs 6.179 billion in the market today.

After the share transaction, market capitalisation stood at Rs 3.942 trillion.

In today's market, none of the scrips declined while 184 advanced and two remained unchanged.
