The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, the sole secondary market of the country plunged 114. 02 points on the first trading day of the week, dropping to 2,698.25, a 4.05 per cent fall.
Similarly, the sensitive index and float index also dropped hard with the sensitive index closing at 506.27 points with 19.51 points or a 3.71 per cent fall.
Meanwhile, the float index closed at 188.70 points with a 7.95 point or a 4.04 per cent drop.
A total of 17,330,538 units of shares of altogether 225 companies were traded at Rs 8.493 billion in the market today. After the share transaction, market capitalisation stood at Rs 3.776 trillion.
Meanwhile, all the sub-indices also recorded a huge loss in today's market with the life insurance index leading the losers with 800.06 point loss closely followed by the non-life index with 614.21 points drop.
In today's market, only four scrips advanced while all the other 181 scrips declined.
