Four held for force-feeding human excreta to woman

JALESHWOR, OCTOBER 18

Four people were arrested by Mahottari Police for force-feeding a woman human excreta on the charge of practising witchcraft.

A group of four, including two women, forced a woman of Suga village of Jaleshwor municipality to eat human faeces last Wednesday.

The arrested are Puranidevi Mahato, Pramila Devi Mahato and her sons Sikindar and Anil, the District Police Office said. The victim was called a witch when a 13-year-old daughter of Purani Devi started crying upon seeing her while she was strolling near the house of Puranidevi.

The group of four then grabbed the woman, tied her to an electric pole near the house of Puranidevi, shaved her hair, stripped her off clothes, smeared her face and force-fed her human excreta.Police have gathered evidences from the site supporting the crime.

Further investigation into the case is going on, Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya said.
