JHAPA, SEPTEMBER 22

Police made public four persons arrested for their involvement in killing a woman over a land dispute, in Jhapa today.

The body of the woman was found disfigured beyond recognition at Sanomai Khola of Jhapa Rural Municipality around 12 days back. Police investigation showed that different people had killed the woman and thrown the body in the river.

The victim has been identified as Dhonni Tudu, 50, of India's Singhirami Gram Panchyat. Her parental home is in Jhapa Rural Municipality. The arrested people told police that they killed the woman with a sharp weapon, cut the boy into pieces and threw it into the river.

The arrested are Aitawar Soren, 23, Lakahn Tudu Satar, 37, Siri Saila, 56 and Hemram Satar, 27, said SP Sanuram Bhattarai. One person involved in the incident is at large. "A manhunt is on to search for the absconding man," said SP Bhattarai.
