KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 12

Sankhuwasabha police have made public the accused of murdering six persons of the same family in Madi Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district.

Six members of a family were found dead on September 5.

According to police, Lok Bahadur Karki (23) was arrested on Saturday on the charge of murdering Tej Bahadur Karki, 58, of Khola Gaun, his mother Parbata, 84, spouse Manamaya, 56, daughter-in-law Ranjana, 28, grandson Deepak, 10, and grand-daughter Goma, 5.

He is reported to be a distant relative of the murdered victims. The accused is said to have admitted to the killings.

Following the incident, a three-member team of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police was sent to the site under command of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rugam Kunwar.

Similarly, teams from District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, Provincial Police Office and Federal police Unit Office, Dharan were deployed.

The site is some 55 kilometres away from the district headquarters.
