Four Indians killed in Rautahat road accident

RAUTAHAT, NOVEMBER 14
Four Indian nationals died after the car they were travelling on crashed into a lake along the Gaur-Chandrapur road section in Yamunamai Rural Municipality of Rautahat district on Saturday night.
The deceased have been identified as Dinanath Sah (25), Arun Sah (30), Dilip Mahato (28) and Amit Mahato (27), all hailing from the Indian State of Bihar.
After the fast-moving car crashed into the pond, a team of security personnel stationed at Bam canal rushed to the scene and attempted to rescue the occupants by shattering the windshield, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Binod Ghimire of the Rautahat District Police Office.
SP Ghimire remarked, 'They had, however, already passed away.'
Although police had found identity cards from all four deceased, Rautahat police had corresponded with Indian police for confirmation.
Following the identification process, their kins arrived this morning and confirmed their identity, SP Ghimire said.
The deceased were said to be heading home after visiting Naresh Sah in Dewani Gonahi Municipality-4.
According to police sources, they were speeding while under influence.
The automobile was lifted out of the pond with the help of a crane the same night, and police have begun an investigation into the incident, according to police.
