KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 16
Nepal Water Supply Corporation under the Ministry of Water Supply and JICA Nepal signed an agreement for Technical Cooperation Project to improve water supply system in urban areas of the country yesterday.
According to JICA, the project will improve accessibility to safe water. Activities will be primarily piloted in the Pokhara branch targeting the sizeable water supply facilities of 45 MLD WTP on the verge of completion.
Despite bearing responsibility for providing water supply to 23 major cities of Nepal, NWSC continues to suffer from meagre service delivery capacity. The project will improve operation and maintenance capacity, tariff collection capacity, and human resource development capacity, to name a few major components of the project.
