DAMAULI, OCTOBER 1

Villagers in Chuder village of Byas Municipality-5, Tanahun, are happy after they got drinking water at their homes. Earlier, they were compelled to drink contaminated water from local rivulets.

The plight of the villagers to drink polluted water has ended thanks to the construction of a water project. The project was developed with the investment of around 11.64 million rupees of America's Rotary Club Honolulu Sanset, Rotary Club Damauli and Byas Municipality.

The project was jointly inaugurated by Rotary District 3292 Nepal-Bhutan former chairperson Rajiv Pokhrel and Byas Municipality Mayor Baikuntha Neupane yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Pokhrel hoped that the drinking water project would provide clean and pure drinking water to the people facing water crisis for long. Similarly, Mayor Neupane also hoped the water project would address the water woes of the villagers. Some 68 households are expected to benefit from the water project.
