KATHMANDU, MARCH 14

The festival of colors, Holi, also known as Fagu Purnima, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the Tarai region today.

Symbolizing the victory of good over evil, Holi is a vibrant festival that fosters mutual harmony and joy. People of all ages partake in the celebrations by smearing colors on one another and splashing colored water, marking the arrival of spring with festive cheer.

Though traditionally a Hindu festival, Holi has transcended religious boundaries, becoming popular among non-Hindus as well. It is a time for families, friends, and communities to come together in joyous revelry.

Celebrated over two days, the festival was observed yesterday in the hilly regions, including Kathmandu, while the Tarai region celebrates it today.

To mark the occasion, the government has declared a public holiday in the Tarai districts, following the public holiday granted in hilly regions yesterday.
