Nepali film Tiniharu-Elephants in the Fog has been selected to represent Nepal in the 99th Academy Awards, scheduled for 2027.
The announcement was made by the International Feature Film Selection Committee, Nepal, which said the film was chosen after evaluating its technical aspects, script, emotional depth and artistic qualities, as well as its compliance with the Oscars' eligibility criteria.
The committee noted that it had received two films for consideration, including Gaunthali, before selecting Elephants in the Fog.
The Academy Awards, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honours in the global film industry, will mark Nepal's latest entry into the international competition.
