Nepal records 269 fresh COVID-19 cases, three fatalities on Friday

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 17

Nepal recorded 269 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 825,445 while the death toll climbed to 11,570 fatalities today. Meanwhile, three fatalties were reported on Friday.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 808,353 with 270 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 9,016 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,691 were PCR tests while 1,325 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,758,719 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 5 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 274.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,522.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal had witnessed 160 cases of the coronavirus infection while two persons had succumbed to the disease during the same period.
