Nepal records 158 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities on Saturday

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 18

Nepal recorded 158 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 825,603 while the death toll climbed to 11,572 fatalities today. Meanwhile, two fatalties were reported on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 808,603 with 250 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 7,997 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 5,483 were PCR tests while 2,514 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,764,202 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 31 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 189.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,428.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal had witnessed 269 cases of the coronavirus infection while three persons succumbed to the disease in the same period.
