Nepal records 291 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities on Monday

Nepal recorded 291 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 829,277 while the death toll remains at 11,598 as two fatalities were recorded on Monday.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 812,674 with 255 discharges logged today.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 12,498 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,700 were PCR tests while 2,798 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,880,024 PCR tests have been carried out till date.Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 35 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 326.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,005.
Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Sunday, Nepal had witnessed 213 cases of the respiratory infection while two persons had succumbed to the disease in the same period.
