Nepal records 478 new Covid-19 cases, 271 discharges, 1 fatality on Thursday

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 830,480 on Thursday with 478 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 813,447 with 271 discharges logged today. On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll reaches 11,602 with one fatality today.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 5,431.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of12,099 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,209 were PCR tests while 4,890 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,901,742 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 62 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 540.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.9%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

Currently, there are 113 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

So far, a total of 25,642,292 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 14,737,433 have received the first dose while only 10,904,851 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

As many as 120,653 people received Covid-19 vaccine today alone.

Globally, over 298 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 5.4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 256 million people have recovered while more than 35 million cases are still active.
