A person died while another sustained injuries as a tipper hit a motorcycle along the East-West Highway in Makawanpur on Sunday morning.

A person died while another sustained injuries as a tipper hit a motorcycle along the East-West Highway in Makawanpur on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Taradevi Regmi (55) of Chitwan's Bharatpur Metropolitan City-12.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jayeshwor Rimal, Spokesperson at District Police Office, Makawanpur, the incident occurred when a tipper (Na 2 Ka 431) travelling from Heatauda collided with a motorcycle travelling in the same direction at Manahari Bazaar of Manahari-7, injuring the motorcycle rider and pillion rider.

Regmi, who was critically injured, was transferred to a Chitwan hospital, where she died of her injuries while undergoing treatment.

The motorbike rider suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.

Meanwhile, the tipper and its driver have been detained by police for further investigation, Makawanpur DPO said.
