30 health workers test positive for COVID in Nuwakot

People in Nuwakot district have been asked to strictly abide by health safety protocols after many health workers and employees of the District Administration Office contracted coronavirus infection in the district.

Many health workers in the district's health facilities have tested COVID positive. Thirty health workers, including two specialist doctors and four medical officers at Trishuli Hospital, have contracted coronavirus, said medical Superintendent Dr Dipendra Pande. 'Specialist doctors, medical officers, nurses, paramedics and lab technicians have tested positive for coronavirus,' Pande added.

Health workers got infected after the number of people visiting the hospital for COVID test increased alarmingly.

Gynaecology and obstetrics services have been halted due to infection among specialist doctors. The hospital issued a notice and informed people about the closure of related services citing infection among doctors. The hospital has requested one and all to abide by health safety protocols strictly.

Patients, who are not in need of urgent service have been requested to stay at home for some time.

Moreover, some employees at the District Administration Office have contracted coronavirus while some have symptoms similar to coronavirus.

Considering this, the office has appealed to service seekers to visit the office only for urgent services.
