Impact of westerly low pressure system remains

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 30

The westerly low pressure system is having partial impact on the weather at present.

It will be partly cloudy in the hilly parts of the country while the Tarai areas will witness foggy condition due to the influence of this system, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Although there was sunshine until the afternoon in Kathmandu valley for the past two days, the weather turned cloudy afterwards, and this condition will continue, resulting in somewhat chilly weather condition.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu was measured at three degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was 16 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours.

Most parts of the country, including Kathmandu, are witnessing warm sunshine today. The Division's weather bulletin states that the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly parts of Province 1 and Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces while it will be partly cloudy in other parts of the country in the afternoon.

The same weather condition will prevail tonight, the Division stated.
