KATHMANDU, January 20
Most parts of high regions of the country including Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces are witnessing the effects of westerly wind as weather is partly to generally cloudy throughout today.
Meteorological Forecasting Division shared that there are chances of light rain at various areas in Province 1, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, Karnali Province, Sudurpashchim Province and light snowfall at some places of the high mountainous region, today and tonight.
Similarly, some parts of the provinces will witness light rainfall with chances of light snowfall in some several high mountainous and hilly regions on Friday.
The snowfall is likely to persist on Saturday as well. Meanwhile, this weather system will remain as it is till Monday, maintaining mercury drop across the country.
In Tarai regions, fog and coldwave have impacted daily lives with minimum temperature dropping as low as 6.8 degree Celsius in Nepalgunj.
Many parts of the country observed light rain on Wednesday night as well. Some places in Jumla, Pokhara, Kathmandu and Taplejung remained wet which has increased cold in the areas.
