KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 1

Nepal national cricket team skipper Sandeep Lamichhane made it to the auction for 2022 Indian Premier League.

Lamichhane, who made the breakthrough in 2018 after he was picked up by the then Delhi Daredevils for three years, is one of the seven crickets from associate nations to be selected for the auction slated for February 12-13 in Bangalore.

A total of 15 Nepali cricketers had registered their names but only Lamichhane was able to make it to the auction.

Lamichhane has quoted a base price of Rs 6.4m (four million Indian rupees).

Lamichhane, who spent three seasons in Delhi before being released, could not impress any team in 2021 auction.

Lamichhane, the first and only Nepali cricketer to play in the money-spinning IPL, got chance to play for Delhi after they were eliminated from the league round and he took five wickets in three matches.

In 2019, Lamichhane bagged eight wickets in six matches, while he did not get chance to perform in the next edition.
