Nepal records 2401 fresh COVID-19 cases, 14 fatalities on Wednesday

The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 2,401.

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 09

The national active Covid-19 caseload of Nepal climbed to 30,241 on Wesnesday as 1,851 people tested positive for the infection in past 24 hours.

The latest reported number of infections carried the nationwide tally to 970,462 while the death toll reached 11,852 as 14 fatalities were recorded today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 928,369 with 7,777 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 16,356 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 11,603 were PCR tests while 4,753 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 5,283,372 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 550 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 2,401.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.7%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.3%.

Currently, there are 133 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
