KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 28

Nepal recorded 241 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 827,763 while the death toll climbed to 11,588 fatalities today. Meanwhile, two fatalities were reported on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 811,265 with 260 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 12,566 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 8,536 were PCR tests while 4,030 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,838,223 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 23 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 264.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 4,910.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal had witnessed 251 cases of the respiratory infection while one person had succumbed to the disease during the same period.
