RAJBIRAJ, FEBRUARY 16
Lack of staffers has affected service delivery at various government offices across Saptari.
As there are not enough hands at the offices, service seekers had to either wait for hours in long lines to get their work done or return empty-handed dreading the long wait.
For instance, only a few employees are at work at the district administration office despite the fact that there are a total of 33 positions.
'We have three positions for administrative officers at our office, but have only one at work now. Similarly, four first and second class non-gazetted officers' posts, among others, are vacant,' said Chief District Officer Janardan Sharma.
'As the lack of staffers started to seriously affect service delivery, we called an officer from Rajbiraj prison and he is temporarily working with us now,' said the CDO, who also said that his office had long informed the higher-up about the staff crunch they were facing.
Likewise, Office of Land Reform and Land Revenue is also suffering from the problem of insufficient employees.
Of the three positions for section officers available at the office, two are vacant.
Two positions for non-gazetted first-class officers are also vacant.
The plight of Nepal Telecom Offices is no different, and no different is the situation of Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital.
Most of the 18 local levels in the district are also reeling under manpower scarcity.
