KATHMANDU, APRIL 22

Renowned vocalist Sangita Rana Pradhan is set to perform at the upcoming edition of Paleti, a musical series that has been running since 2005. Sangeeta, who last performed at Paleti in 2007, will take the stage once again on April 25 and 26.

In a statement today, Nepalaya said, this time, singer Sangita Pradhan will bring a classical dimension to Paleti, performing khayal, thumri, and selected modern compositions.

Returning to Paleti after 18 years for a solo performance, Sangita expressed her excitement: "I'm thrilled to return to Paleti for a solo performance after such a long time. This platform has always brought me joy, especially because of the moments I've shared here with audiences and artists like Shanti Thatal didi. I often find myself nostalgic thinking about those collaborations,' as stated in the statement.

Singer Sangita Pradhan is a prominent and enduring figure in Nepali music. A classically trained vocalist from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, she has made significant contributions to both classical and contemporary Nepali music, including film songs.

At Paleti, Sangita will perform songs penned by legendary lyricists such as Kaliprasad Rijal, Ratna Shamsher Thapa, Manjul, Nirmohi Byas, Aarti Newa, Manjit Tamang, and Aabhash. These lyrics have been set to music by composers including Natikaji, Shanti Thatal, Manbir Singh, Gurudev Kamat, Amrit Gurung, and Aabhash himself, according to the statement.

Paleti is a monthly musical series held on the final weekend of every English month.

A special discounted online ticketing option is available for early bookers. Tickets for the two-day musical event can be purchased via www.paleti.com.np, Nepalaya said in the statement.
