The National Invasive Alien Species Management Strategy and Implementation Plan 2081 has been approved after 15 years. Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri endorsed the long-pending strategy through a ministerial-level decision, today.
The strategy was prepared by the Forest Research and Training Centre with input from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and other relevant stakeholders.
According to Dr. Rajendra KC, Director General of the Centre, the long-awaited strategy will play a crucial role in controlling the spread of invasive species across the country.
