Chinese Foreign Minister arriving in Nepal today

KATHMANDU, MARCH 25

Chinese State Councilor and Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi is arriving in Nepal today at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Khadka.

It has been learnt that the Chinese delegation will land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 4:00 pm.

Wang Yi is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during his three-day visit.

Furthermore, the Chinese state councilor will also meet with former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Yi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Nepali counterpart Minister Khadka, leading their respective delegations on March 26.

The delegation will return home on March 27, informed the MoFA.

On Thursday, Yi made a surprise stop in Kabul and met with the Taliban government representatives, becoming one of the highest level visitors to land in Afghanistan since the Taliban's return to power.
