KATHMANDU, APRIL 12

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Kathmandu has released a video to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The 'friendship video' features various aspects of the two countries - from the beaches of Bangladesh, to the mountains of Nepal, and also showcases diversity and similarities in economic, social, religious, cultural and diplomatic aspects between the two nations.

The video further stresses on the shared economic agenda and expectations of Nepal and Bangladesh, while emphasising that Nepal's hydropower can be prime source of clean energy for Bangladesh, and that its people can be consumers of the same.

Nepal-Bangladesh diplomatic relations were established in April 8, 1972, almost a year after Bangladesh was recognized as an independent nation. The two countries have been co-working in various global and regional platforms including the SAARC and the BIMSTEC.
