Election related activities banned at night

As the local election is just round the corner, a multiparty meeting held today at Lamidanda decided to ban election related activities after 8:00pm in Jitpursimara sub-metropolis, Bara.

Representatives of different parties agreed to stop cadres from moving to other villages for election related activities after 8:00pm. Representing five parties from the sub-metropolis, the candidates for ward chairman in different wards have agreed to the same and committed to abide by the election code of conduct. They have also decided to take action if any one is found going against the decision.

A chairman candidate from CPN- UML Basanta Khatiwada said the decision would be implemented from today onwards until the election was over. He said it was every citizen's responsibility to help conduct the election in free and fearless environment.

Another candidate from Nepali Congress Chaturbabu Wagle said that the decision was taken to avoid possible untoward incident and end bad practices. Khatiwada, Wagle, Shiva Dhungana from CPN-MC, Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal's Sita Ram Prasad Sah and CPN (US) Chandra Bahadur Bal, among others, were present at the meeting.
