5 killed, 18 injured in Kavre road accident

Five persons died while 18 others sustained injuries after two vehicles collided with eachother in Roshi Rural Municipality-11 along the BP Highway of Kavrepalanchowk district on Wednesday afternoon.

Five persons died while 18 others sustained injuries after two vehicles collided with eachother in Roshi Rural Municipality-11 along the BP Highway of Kavrepalanchowk district on Wednesday afternoon.

Bikram Shrestha (30) of Kamalamai Municipality-7, Hari Bahadur Bal (45) of Kamalamai-4, Pramila Nepali (44) of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhuli district, and Samjhana Bhusal (30) of Khandadevi Rural Municipality-8 in Ramechhap district, as well as her six-year-old son Sangit Bhusal, have been identified as the deceased.

The accident occurred when a force vehicle with Indian registration number UP 58 T 8181 carrying Indian pilgrims en route to India from Kathmandu and a Tata Sumo vehicle (Na 1 Ja 4210) en route to Kathmandu from Sindhuli collided head-on at Badubesi, killing five people, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Khatiwada at the District Police Office.

All of the injured are being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital, informed police.

Meanwhile, both vehicles have been impounded by police for further investigation, according to DSP Khatiwada.
