Senior advocate Bishnu Bhusal successfully summitted Mt Everest, at 7.30 am today.

62-year-old Bhusal became the first advocate to climb Everest, Pemba Dorje Sherpa, Managing Director at Himalayan Shepherd said.

His motive in attempting the summit is to appeal the global community to reduce carbon footprint, Bhusal said.

The advocate had left for the expedition a month ago, on April 15, carrying a flag with Nepal Bar Association's logo.

Bhusal had previously worked as an environment advisor and has been carrying out numerous works in national and international organisations as a law expert as well.

His daughter Preeti Bhusal had also successfully climbed Everest four days ago.
