KATHMANDU, MAY 16

A 20-year-old Pakistani climber successfully climbed the world's fourth highest peak this morning becoming the youngest climber in the world to climb four mountains above 8,000m.

According to Thaneswar Guragai, Shehroze Kashif, who became the youngest climber in the world to summit K2 on 27 July 2021, successfully scaled Mt Lhotse this morning. On May 5, the broad boy also scaled Mt Kanchenjunga, the third tallest mountain in the world.

"With the success in Lhotse, Shehroze becomes the youngest person ever to climb four higher 8000ers (Everest, K2, Kanchenjunga and Lhotse)," Guragai said. Shehroze became the youngest Pakistani to summit Everest on 11 May 2021.

According to him, Nguyên Thi Thanh Nhā (Céline) from the Seven Summit Treks scaled Mt Everest this morning becoming the first Vietnamese woman to reach the summit of the world's highest peak. "Céline as a member of Seven Summit Treks Everest Expedition 2022, climbed the highest mountain using the SE- Ridge (South Side) at 3:30am,'' he added.
