Panchthar, July 3

Bodies of two persons who had gone missing in a landslide at Phalelung Rural Municipality-7 in Panchthar district have been recovered today morning after 37 hours.

Three members of a single family at the area were buried when a landslide swept away their house on Friday night, said the police.

Of the total casualties , body of Ruplal Magar, 42, was found on Saturday morning while of remaining two (Rup Lal's spouse Goma Magar, 38, and his niece Alisa Magar, 19,) were recovered today morning, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Rakesh Thapa.

The police launched a search for the missing ones shortly with the help of local people and an excavator.

However, Rup Lal's uncle Dal Prasad Magar, who was also with all of the deceased in Rup Lal's house on that fateful night, survived the disaster by jumping off.

Local people blamed failure to complete road construction in the area before monsoon for the landslip.
