Tamang wins title

Nepali Army athlete Tirtha Bahadur Tamang celebrates after winning the Ligligkot Siranchowk Gorkha Durbar Marathon on Saturday.

DAMAULI: Nepali Army athlete Tirtha Bahadur Tamang won the title of the Ligligkot Siranchowk Gorkha Durbar Marathon on Saturday.

Tamang completed the 42km race in three hours, 11 minutes and one second, while Indian Army's Anish Thapa Magar came second in 3:12:17. Mohan Dev Joshi, also from Nepali Army, was third in 3:15:15.

Top three athletes received Rs 150,000, Rs 100,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively along with medals and certificates.

Fourth placed Devraj Mahatara and fifth place Govinda Karki received Rs 50,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively.

Arjun Rai Kulung, Tham Bahadur Adhikari, Ashok Baram, Raibat Bahadur Dahal and Bimal Khadka finished in top 10 and they also got Rs 30,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
