International Veteran TT C'ships in November

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 28

Nepal APM Pvt Ltd is organising the second Nepal APM International Veteran Table Tennis Championships from November 17-19 at the Nepal APM Club in Lalitpur.

The organisers signed the sponsorship agreement for the event on Wednesday. Managing Director of APM Dan Bahadur Mahata and MD of Xiom Nepal Jackie Maharjan exchanged the memorandum of understanding.

As per the agreement, the title sponsor of the event, Xiom will provide the organisers with Rs 500,00, which is 40 per cent of the total estimated budget. Samsung is the co-sponsor the the tournament, which is also supported by All Nepal Table Tennis Association and Nepal Olympic Committee.

Around 150 players from Nepal, South Korea, United States of America, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are expected to take part in the tournament which features five events -- men's singles above-40, above-50, above-60, women's singles above-40 and team. The total cash purse of the tournament is Rs 450,000.

South Korean Olympic gold medallist Yang Young Ja will conduct training for U-16 players on the sidelines of the tournament. Xiom will provide sports gears to the participants.
