UML's Shrestha emerges victorious in Ktm-9

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 22

CPN UML's candidate Krishna Gopal Shrestha has been elected to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu 9.

Shrestha secured 11,956 votes, sealing his win against closest contender

Tek Bahadur Pokhrel of Rastriya Swatantra Party. Pokhrel had received 10,961 votes.

Meanwhile, NCP Maoist Center candidate Kalpana Dhamala finished third with 6402 votes.

Shrestha is the second UML candidate to be elected from the party.

Prior to him, UML's Prem Bahadur Maharjan was declared the winner in Lalitpur 2.
