KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 21
The newly formed Rastriya Swatantra Party has made a more than stunning debut in parliamentary politics with its candidates showing a strong presence as vote counting for various constituencies in Kathmandu is underway.
At present, three of RSP candidates have taken an early lead in three Kathmandu constituencies, giving the established parties a run for their money.
Shishir Khanal is leading Kathmandu-6 with CPN-UML's Sarbendra Khanal trailing behind him.
Likewise, in Kathmandu-7, Ganesh Parajuli is leading as CPN-UML's Shyam Kumar Ghimire is struggling at the second spot.
Similarly, in Kathmandu-8, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha is currently occupying the first spot with Hamro Nepal Party's Suman Sayami right behind him in a very close contest so far.
Meanwhile, the party has also taken a lead in Kaski-2 leaving behind UML's star candidate Bidya Bhattarai.
Along with these leads, several candidates of the party are currently placed at the second and third spots as counting in underway, signalling a wave of change in voters' preferences amid series of political turmoil in the country.
