CPN-UML has most votes in Jhapa

JHAPA, NOVEMBER 22
The CPN-UML is leading in three constituencies and the Nepali Congress and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in one constituency each as the counting of ballots is under way in Jhapa district.
As per the latest data, NC General Secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma is leading against UML's Agni Prasad Kharel by over 4,000 votes in Constituency-1. Sharma has received 11,385 votes. In Constituency-3, RPP's Rajendra Prasad Lingden is maintaining his lead against NC candidate Krishna Prasad Sitaula. The two have secured 4,384 and 3,158 votes respectively.
In constituencies 2, 4 and 5, UML's Devraj Ghimire, Lal Prasad Sawa and KP Sharma Oli are leading.
While Ghimire is leading by over 1,000 votes by securing 7,328 votes against 6,206 votes of independent candidate Bhadra Prasad Nepal, UML's Sawa had edged past Rastriya Swatantra Party's Shambhu Dhakal by a small margin by the time this report was prepared.
In Constituency 5, UML Chair Oli is leading against NC's Khagendra Pandav Adhikari by over 3,500 votes. Oli has received 8,978 votes while his closest rival has secured 5,448 votes. Vote counting under provincial election hasn't started in all the constituencies.
