KATHMANDU: In the view of the tragic aircraft accident of Yeti Airlines on January 15, the European Union (EU) and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) have decided to postpone a planned on-site assessment visit mandated by the EU Air Safety Committee for the time being.
A joint statement issued by EU Ambassador to Nepal Nona Deprez and CAAN Director General Pradeep Adhikari on Friday reads, 'The primary focus for CAAN, at this time, is on dealing with the aftermath of the accident.'
The statement further says that the EU will continue to assist CAAN in its efforts to improve the aviation safety situation in Nepal.
