Bara, March 29

Himalayan Sherpa Club advanced to the final of the 13th Jitpur-Simara Gold Cup Football Tournament following their 3-0 victory over Makawanpur-XI here at the Simara Stadium today.

Nishan Limbu scored a brace after Sushil Rai's opening goal as the winners of the second edition Himalayan Sherpa made it to their third final appearance in the tournament after a gap of 10 years.

Rai put Himalayan Sherpa ahead in the 29th minute after he played one-two with Abyomi and slotted home from inside the box. Player-of-the-match Limbu, who replaced skipper Bishwas Shrestha in the 74th minute, then scored two goals to seal the victory.

Limbu doubled the tally in the 87th minute. Milan Rai met the ball half cleared by Makawapur defence line and released it for Limbu to score from close range. Rai, who came in place of Khamir Gilson in the 74th minute, set another goal for Limbu moments before the final whistle.

Makawanpur, who had displayed a composed show against Bharatpur Football Club in the quarter-final match, were totally off in the day's game and they even failed to create a notable chance.

On Thursday, defending champions New Road Team will take on fellow A division outfit Church Boys United in the second semi-final match.
