Kathmandu, April 22

Sanjay Poudyal won the title of the Ncell Baahrakhari Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Poudyal finished first on count back after he was tied with Tashi Tshiring on 40 points. The 12-handicap amateur golfer Poudyal scored 21 on the back nine, whereas Tshiring earned 18. Poudyal received the golden golf ball as the winner's first prize.

Babu Sherpa came second in nett section with the score of 38 points after Tshiring took the gross category trophy.

Tshiring, a scratch handicap golfer, carded six birdies on his way to accumulating 40 points to win the gross section trophy along with the most birdies award.

Tara Karki Chitrakar bagged the women's section trophy with 37 points, while Kashmira Shah came second with 33 points. Dr Bhagwan Koirala was the winner among senior golfers with 37 points.

Dorje Hoazangtsang won the longest drive award and Raj Pradhan bagged the closest-to-the-pin trophy. Hoazangtsang missed the Hole-in-One on par-3 10th by just two inches and the Hyundai KONA remained unclaimed.
