KATHMANDU, MAY 10

Former home minister Balkrishna Khand has been taken to the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday afternoon after being arrested for his alleged role in the fake Bhutanese refugees scam.

Khand is being presented before the court to seek permission to hold him in judicial custody for the purpose of investigating the scam. He was taken to the district court in Babarmahal in a police van at 3:00 p.m.

Khand was arrested on Wednesday morning from his residence in Maijubahal.
