Former Minister for Home Affairs Balkrishna Khand has been arrested this morning from his Maijubahal residence on allegations of involvement in the fake Bhutanese refugees scam.
Police have also arrested Balkrishna Khand's personal secretary, Narendra KC in connection to the scam.
In the related development, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, CPN UML Secretary is absconding after the arrest warrant was issued against him.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Rayamajhi's son, and Tek Narayan Pandey, former home secretary, have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in the fraudulent scheme.
