Big 3 parties agree to remove parliament obstruction

KATHMANDU, JULY 9

A meeting of the top leaders of the main three political parties has agreed to remove the Federal Parliament obstruction, according to the Secretariat of the Prime Minister.

The meeting that took place on the initiatives of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today was attended by PM Dahal, the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairperson of the main opposition CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli.

The meeting of both the Houses has been obstructed since last Wednesday by opposition parties.

As a result, the ordinance relating to criminalizing the loan sharking has been inactive, and other important bills have not advanced.

The meeting acted on the suggestion by the top leaders of the ruling alliance in a meeting today.

Prior to this, upon the request of the PM, Speaker Devraj Ghimire has rescheduled today's meeting of the House of Representatives for 3 pm today. The HoR meeting was actually scheduled for 1 pm.
