KATHMANDU, JULY 31

Nepal Police have apprehended 13 persons for drug possession from various parts of the country on Sunday.

Kalali: Three individuals were arrested in different areas of the district with a substance resembling brown sugar. Yogesh Kunwar (27) and Kunal Khadka (26), both from Dhangadhi Submetropolitan City -2, were arrested with 350 mg of the substance from Santoshi Tol, Dhagadhi -2. Arjun Badaek (19) of Simari of Joshipur Rural Municipality-6 was arrested with 300mg from the same location, and Ram Suresh Chaudhary (20) was found with 1 gram of the substance from Kabba Kheda, Bhajani Municipality-5.

Jhapa: A police team from Area Police Office Damak arrested three individuals, including 27-year-old Saroj Subba from Gauradaha Municipality-5, currently residing in Narayan Gopal Tol, Damak Municipality-5. They were caught with 8 grams of a substance resembling brown sugar. Mahamtaj Ali (20) of Birtamod Municipality-4 was also arrested with 2 grams of the substance from Mechi Bridge, Mechinagar Municipality-6, on Sunday evening.

Sarlahi: Police arrested two individuals, including Ramanand Sah (40) of Rautahat Garuda Municipality-8, with 10 Kg of marijuana during a police checkup in Bagmati Municipality-11 on Sunday evening. A team from Area Police Offices Karmaiya and Hariban apprehended them after finding the marijuana hidden inside their car's trunk (Pradesh 3-01-022 Cha 6518).

Kanchanpur: Bikash BK (24) of Sigalpatii, Krishnapur Municipality-7, was arrested with 100 mg of brown sugar from Chamman Chauraha, the same municipality, on Sunday night. A joint team of police from Area Police Offices Gulariya and Raikawar, and Temporary Traffic Post, Gulariya, apprehended BK during a checking conducted on their motorcycle(Se 5 Pa 7999).

Kapilvastu: Police arrested Bibek Tharu (31) of Bairiya, Banganga Municipality-1, and another individual from Tulsidihawa, Mayadevi Rural Municipality-4, with 8 grams of a substance resembling brown sugar on Sunday night. They were arrested after the substance was found on their possession the checking of their motorcycle(Lu 77 Pa 162) by a team of police deployed from Police Post, Baluhawa.

Further investigations into all cases are ongoing, according to the police.
