KATHMANDU, JULY 30
Police have arrested as many as seven individuals for possessing drugs from different parts of Kailali and Kanchanpur districts on Saturday.
Kailali police arrested two individuals from Khakrola bridge in Tikapur Municipality-9 of Kailali on Saturday afternoon with 200 mg of a substance that looks like brown sugar. The arrestees have been identified as Awash Bhattarai (24) and Jivan Rawal (25) of the same location.
The duo was on the way to Nepal from India on a motorcycle (Ra 5 Pa 374) when they were arrested during the police checking by a team deployed from Police Post Kalakunda.
Similarly, three persons were also arrested from Barrel of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-3 of Kailali with brown sugar on Saturday evening. A team deployed from Police Post Trinagar arrested Bibek Chaudhary (21) of Godawari Municipality-8 with 650 mg of Brown sugar and Sanjay Gupta (21) and Abhishek Kusuwa (19), both of Dhangadi-1, with 110 mg of Brown sugar.
Meanwhile, Kanchanpur police arrested two persons with 120 mg of a substance similar to brown sugar from Doda of Punarbas Municipality-10 on Saturday evening. Police arrested Pradip Pakhrin (28) and Bikal Magar (33) of Kailali district with the drugs.
A joint team of police deployed from Sudurpaschim Provincial Police Office, Dhangadhi, and Area Police Office, Tribhuvanbasti arrested the duo during the checking of the motorcycle (Su.Pa.Pra. 02-003 Pa 6431).
Further investigation is ongoing for all the cases, Police said.
