KATHMANDU, AUGUST 12

Ashmank Karki won the title of the fourth edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Karki carded five-under 67 nett to finish first, two strokes ahead of Pawan Bista and Sumod Bastakoti.

Bista came second on count back, while Bastakoti was third. Bista carded six-under 30 on back nine, whereas Bastakoti played two-over 38.

Norbu Tshiring Sherpa won the gross section trophy with the score of one-over 73. Wangyal K Gyatso was the best in junior category after he played eightover 80.

A total of 44 golfers took part in the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Senior Golf Director of Gokarna Forest Resort, Deepak Acharya handed over the prizes to the winners.

After the fourth edition, Tashi Tshiring Dong remained at the top of the nett section table with 140 points, while Pawan Bista moved up to second with 130 points.

Umesh Jung Thapa was third with 115 points, while Sumod Bastakoti was fourth with 105. Ashmank Karki and Sumed Bhattarai were tied for fifth with 100 points.

Tashi Tshiring Dong also leads the gross section standing with 250 points, while Tashi Tshiring and Wangchen Dhondup are tied for second on 240.

Norbu Tshiring Sherpa is fourth with 130 points and Vijay Shrestha Einhaus is fifth on 70.

After 10 medal rounds, top 40 golfers in nett section and top 20 in gross category will make it to Club Championship finals which will be played over two rounds.
