BAJURA, AUGUST 19

Air services, which had been suspended for two weeks, resumed to and from Kolti Airport in Bajura district from yesterday.

The interruption of flights was attributed to a directive from Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority, instructing airline companies to refrain from operating flights in mountainous regions after midday.

Bir Bahadur Budha, chief of the Kolti branch office of CAAN, said CAAN had suspended flights to hilly and mountainous territories of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces during the monsoon season due to risk to aviation.

Following extensive criticism and public grievances regarding the disruption of flights, CAAN recently decided to rescind its ban on the flights after midday.

Kolti Airport, situated in a remote area of Bajura district, witnesses a minimum of two flight operations per day. Airlines such as Nepal Airlines, Sita Air, Tara Air, and Summit Air have been managing flight services to and from Kolti-Nepalgunj and Kolti-Dhangadi routes.
